First, the sealant

The sealant is a sealing material that guides deformation with the shape of the sealing surface, is not easy to flow, and has a certain adhesiveness. It is used to fill the gap of the configuration to seal the adhesive. It has the functions of anti-leakage, waterproof, anti-vibration, sound insulation and heat insulation.
It is usually based on dry or non-dry viscous materials such as asphalt, natural or synthetic resin, natural rubber or synthetic rubber; it is blended with inert fillers such as talc, clay, carbon black, titanium dioxide and asbestos. It is made of a plasticizer, a solvent, a curing agent, an accelerator, and the like.
Classification of sealant

Sealant can be divided into three categories: elastic sealant, liquid sealant and seal putty.

According to chemical composition classification, it can be divided into rubber type, resin type, oil type and natural polymer sealant. This classification can be inferred from the characteristics of polymer materials, which is warm, sealed and adaptable to various media.

Rubber type: This type of sealant is based on rubber. Commonly used rubbers are polysulfide rubber, silicone rubber, urethane rubber, neoprene rubber and butyl rubber.

Resin type: This type of sealant is based on a resin. Commonly used resins are epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins, phenolic resins, polyacrylic resins, polyvinyl chloride resins, and the like.

Oil based: This type of sealant is based on oil. Commonly used oils are various vegetable oils such as linseed oil, castor oil and tung oil, and animal oils such as fish oil.
According to the application classification, it can be divided into high temperature resistant type, cold resistant type, and pressure resistant type.

According to the film formation properties, it can be divided into dry adhesion type, dry peelable type, non-dry type and semi-dry viscoelastic type. This is also the commonly used sealant classification method in China.

According to the purpose of classification, can be divided into building sealant, automotive sealant, insulating sealant, packaging sealant, mining sealant and other types.

According to the performance classification after construction, it can be divided into two types: curing type sealant and semi-curing type sealant. The curing type sealant can be divided into rigid and flexible. The solid formed by vulcanization or solidification of rigid sealant has little elasticity. Can not be bent, usually the seam is not movable; the flexible sealant has elasticity and softness after vulcanization. The non-curable sealant is a soft coagulating sealant that remains in the surface state after the construction of the non-drying tackifier.
Second, glass glue

Glass glue is a material that bonds and seals various glass to other substrates.

Mainly divided into two categories: silicone rubber and polyurethane glue (PU). Silicone rubber sealant - is the glass glue we usually say, and it is divided into acid and neutral. (Neutral glue is divided into: stone sealant, mold sealant, fire sealant, pipe sealant and so on.

The difference between sealant and glass glue

Glass glue: It is a general term. Silicone glue. Polyurethane glue can be commonly called glass glue.

Sealant: It is distinguished from the performance. The single finger function is sealing. The weathering adhesive, silicone structural adhesive and polyurethane adhesive all have sealing effect, but have other important functions, such as high bonding strength and good weather resistance.
