Silica gel is a highly active adsorption material, which is an amorphous substance, which contains polysiloxane, silicone oil, silica (silica), coupling agent and filler, etc., the main component is silica, and its chemical formula is mSiO2·nH2O. Insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic and tasteless, chemically stable, does not react with any substance except strong alkali and hydrofluoric acid. Various types of silica gel form different microporous structures due to their different manufacturing methods. The chemical composition and physical structure of silica gel determine that it has the characteristics that are difficult to replace many other similar materials: high adsorption performance, good thermal stability, stable chemical properties, high mechanical strength, etc.

Classification of silica gel: Silica gel can be divided into two categories: hot vulcanized silicone rubber and room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber according to its vulcanization characteristics. According to the different properties and uses, it can be divided into general-purpose type, ultra-low-temperature resistant type, ultra-high-temperature resistant type, high-strength type, oil-resistant type, medical type and so on. According to the different monomers used, it can be divided into methyl vinyl silicone rubber, methyl phenyl vinyl silicone rubber, fluorine silicone, nitrile silicone rubber, etc.

What are the conditions for each molding from raw rubber to rubber compound?
1. In the process of mixing, due to the low intermolecular cohesion of silica rubber, the silica filler with high reinforcement and high temperature resistance has become the most important compounding agent for silicone rubber, when selecting other compounding agents, nursery rhymes need to consider the requirements of high temperature resistance, that is, under the application conditions of silicone rubber, they shall not volatilize, decompose, carbonize or change color, etc., in order to maintain the heat resistance of silica rubber, reduce the silicon bond is attacked by acid and alkali and break, and prevent foreign acid and alkali from being brought in when mixing, It is also necessary to remove the acidic substances produced by the decomposition of peroxide sulfiding agent in time! 2. Put the mixed raw rubber and other ingredients into the vacuum kneading machine to cook, the temperature is not high at first, in the process of stirring, the temperature is slowly raised by friction to reach 155-160 degrees, and then half an hour is enough. 3. Put the cooked glue into the open mill to grind and roll it, as long as you pay attention not to get dirty, the number of rolls only needs to be 2-3 times on the line 4, after grinding, it should be cooled, the time is about 3-4 hours, and then through the sieve, the glue is filtered again, the purpose is to filter out some solid materials in the glue.

What are the types and characteristics of silica? There are mainly two kinds of gas phase method and precipitation method: gas phase method: most of them are started from silicon tetrachloride, mixed with chlorine and oxygen (air), at a high temperature of more than 1000 degrees, hydrogen is first burned with oxygen to produce water, and then reacted with silicon tetrachloride to generate micropowder, after coalescence, capture and acid removal, to obtain silica products. Advantages of gas phase method: pure height, less SIOH, high reinforcement rate, hot air vulcanization, high transparency of vulcanized rubber, good electrical properties, excellent sealing, pad resistance and dynamic fatigue resistance. Vapor phase application: car parts, wires, cables, medical food, high-strength, high-transparency silicone rubber products, gasket-resistant gaskets. Precipitation method: mostly from the water glass, under stirring to add hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to neutralize the reaction, to obtain SIO2 precipitation, filtering, drying, grinding into high-fineness silica. It can also be obtained from alkaline earth metal silicic acid through acid decomposition reaction. Advantages of precipitation method: vulcanized rubber resilience, compression set, swelling resistance and good processing performance, cheap price, rubber material is not easy to structure, and can only be used in rubber, plastic products filling, reinforcement. Precipitation method use: general molding products, rubber rollers, oil-resistant gasket materials.

What is the difference between silicone and rubber?
We often mistakenly think that silicone is a type of rubber, but this is wrong. The main components of the raw materials of silica gel are extracted from silica (such as silicone oil, white carbon black), while the raw materials of rubber are extracted from resin, and the cost of silica gel is more expensive and environmentally friendly than rubber.
