[experience] test method of "pollution" of sealant, analysis of difference between new and old versions

GB / T 13477.20-2017 determination of elastic recovery rate was implemented on June 1, 2018, which is applicable to the determination of the pollution of building sealing materials.
Compared with GB / T 13477.20-2017 and GB / T 13477.20-2002, the main technical changes are as follows:
- the scope has been modified and the content of solvent type sealing materials has been deleted (see Chapter 1):
(1) the content of "a method is applicable to the determination of the exudation and diffusion degree of single component solvent sealing materials" in the scope of 2002 edition of this part has been deleted, so as to adapt to the current situation that the single component solvent sealing materials such as oil and asphalt have basically withdrawn from the market in China. When the test method for determining the oil permeability is needed for the inspection of individual products, refer to the current standard JC / T 207-2011 "building waterproof asphalt caulking paste".
(2) the contents of method a and method B are revised to "test method a is applicable to the test of determining the pollution under compression, and test method B is applicable to the test of determining the pollution under non compression."
(3) the scope of ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008 are the same, but some of them are explanatory contents, which should be put in the notes of articles, so the notes of this chapter are modified accordingly.
- normative references have been revised (see Chapter 2):
Reference documents GB / T 13477.15-2017, GB / T 16422.2-2014 and GB / T 16422.3-2014 are added, and xenon lamp aging test method is added.
- principle modified (see Chapter 4):
(1) the principle of determining the contamination of single component solvent type sealing materials is deleted.
(2) the principles of ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008 are combined and rewritten into the principles of this part.
- modified the test apparatus (see Chapter 6 and figure 1):
(1) the apparatus used for forming test piece of elastic sealing material is added, such as base material, isolation cushion block and anti sticking material. The apparatus used for forming test piece of single component solvent type sealing material is deleted.
(2) two types of artificial climate accelerated aging tester and accessories are added to be consistent with ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008.
- the preparation of test piece is modified, and the content of solvent type sealing material is deleted (see Chapter 7);
(1) the expression of this article is modified according to the preparation of test pieces in ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008.
(2) the curing time of the test piece after preparation is modified to 28d to be consistent with ISO 16938.
- the test steps are modified, the contents of solvent type sealing materials are deleted, and the corresponding table of parameters of compression test and the contents of non compression test are added (see Chapter 8 and table 1);
Add the clause of "general rules" to indicate the choice of compression and non compression test methods.
Method a (compression test)
(1) the expression of the corresponding relationship among displacement capacity, compression ratio and the width of the joint after compression is added.
(2) according to the provisions of ISO 16938-1:2008, general rules, thermal aging, low temperature aging and artificial climate aging (wet exposure and dry exposure) are added.
(3) in the dry exposure, according to the provisions of GB / T 16422.2 -? The temperature condition of xenon lamp aging test is modified to (65 ± 2) ℃.
Method B (non compression test)
Since the contents of heat aging, low temperature aging and artificial climate aging (wet exposure and dry exposure) in ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008 are the same, this part of method B (non compression test) adopts the leading method to make the standard content simple and clear.
-- added the schematic diagram of pollution assessment, maximum and minimum pollution width and depth measurement, sample table of test report (see Chapter 9, figure 2, figure 3 and table 2);
According to the provisions of ISO 16938-1:2008 and ISO 16938-2:2008, the content of pollution assessment is added, including general rules, inspection of substrate surface, inspection of substrate depth, result expression and test report forms of maximum and minimum pollution width and penetration depth.
- the test report (see item a, C, d), e, F, g), H) and I in Chapter 10 are modified;
(1) the report on the pollution of single component solvent type sealing materials is deleted.
(2) "laboratory name and test date", "chemical category and color of sample", base material source (place of origin) and test surface processing state, test steps used, compression ratio used, aging procedure used, etc. are added.
Examples of sealant pollution
To sum up, compared with the 2002 edition, the 2017 edition of this standard has changed a lot in technology, which keeps pace with the times. The scope of this standard has been modified and the content of solvent type sealing materials has been deleted; The original test method a has been changed subversively, which is equivalent to canceling the original method a. the original method B has been upgraded (xenon lamp and ultraviolet fluorescent lamp artificial climate aging method have been added) to the current version of method a, and the test method for determining pollution under non compression condition has been added. The 2017 pollution test method is more comprehensive and can detect the pollution of building sealing materials to porous substrate more quickly.
