Production and application performance of methyl silicone oil

Methyl silicone oil is the earliest commercial silicone polymer. Because of its excellent oxidation resistance, shear resistance, low surface tension, hydrophobicity, defoaming and other properties, it is widely used in electrical, machinery, coatings, medicine and other departments of the national economy.

In the production process of methyl silicone oil, the catalyst decomposes into pungent gases, which are partially miscible in the system, resulting in peculiar smell of silicone oil and limited application. Therefore, the peculiar smell should be eliminated in the production process of methyl silicone oil.
The methyl silicone oil production process is carried out in a reactor. The whole production process, including copolymerization reaction process, low breaking medium boiling process, heat preservation process and finished product extraction and cooling process, produces low boiling gas. After being condensed by the condenser (circulating water, the condensation temperature is normal temperature), the non condensable gas is led to the activated carbon absorption device for treatment, and then discharged at high altitude through a 15m exhaust funnel.

Methyl silicone oil with different viscosity will mix with each other. Due to the low lightning of low viscosity silicone oil, the lightning of mixed methyl silicone oil may be reduced. The chemical properties of methyl silicone oil are relatively stable, but the viscosity will change when it is in contact with strong acid, strong alkali or metal aluminum and tin at high temperature.

Experiments show that methyl silicone oil with colorless, odorless and qualified indexes can be obtained by using programmed temperature control method between 90-120 ℃ and cooling below 140 ℃ after de lowering, and bubbling with dry air. The average conversion rate is increased from 65% to more than 80%.
