2. How is the use of silicone glass glue used?

One-component silicone glass adhesive can be used immediately, it can be easily shot from the plastic bottle with a glue gun, and the surface can be finished with a spatula or wood chips.


2. Stick time


The curing process of silicone adhesive is developed from the surface inward. The drying time and curing time of different properties of silica gel are different. Therefore, if the surface is to be repaired, it must be done before the glass glue is dry (acid gel, neutral). The transparent glue should generally be within 5-10 minutes, and the neutral variegated glue should generally be within 30 minutes). If you use a color separation paper to cover a certain place, after applying the glue, be sure to remove it before the skin is formed.


3. Curing time


The curing time of the glass glue increases as the thickness of the bonding increases. For example, an acid glass glue of 12 mm thickness may take 3-4 days to solidify, but within about 24 hours, an outer layer of 3 mm has been solidified. When bonding glass, metal or most wood, it has a peel strength of 20 lbs/in after 72 hours at room temperature.


If the glass glue is partially or completely closed, the curing time is determined by the tightness of the seal. In a closed place, it is possible to remain uncured forever. If the temperature is raised, the glass glue will be softened. The gap between the metal and metal bonding faces should not exceed 25 mm. In all kinds of bonding applications, including sealing, the bonding effect should be thoroughly checked before using the bonded equipment.


During the curing process, the acid glass glue will produce a smell due to the volatilization of acetic acid. This taste will disappear during the curing process and will have no odor after curing.


4. Bonding


A. Thoroughly clean the surface of the metal and plastic, remove the oil, and then rinse the entire surface with acetone except the plastic. The rubber surface is sanded with a sandpaper and then rubbed with acetone. Observe the precautions when using this solvent when using acetone.


B. Apply the glass glue evenly on the surface of the prepared object. If the two surfaces are bonded together, place one side first and then squeeze the other side to squeeze out the air with sufficient force, but pay attention to it. Do not squeeze out the glass glue.


C. Place the bonded device at room temperature until the glass glue is cured.


5. Seal


When the silicone glass glue is used for sealing, it is also carried out according to the above several steps, and the glass glue is forced into the joint surface or the gap to make the glass glue fully contact with the surface.


6. Cleaning


Before the glass glue is uncured, it can be wiped off with a cloth strip or paper towel. After curing, it must be scraped off with a scraper or solvent such as xylene or acetone.


                           


3. How long is the storage period of silicone glass glue?
1. The glass glue should be stored in a cool, dry place, below 30 °C. Good quality acid glass glue can ensure effective storage period of more than 12 months, and general acid glass glue can be stored for more than 6 months;
2. Neutral weathering and structural adhesive can guarantee the shelf life of more than 9 months. If the bottle is already open, please use it in a short period of time. If the glass glue is not used up, the bottle must be sealed. When using it again, the bottle mouth should be unscrewed to remove any blockages or replace the bottle mouth.


4. What is the danger of improper use of glass glue?
Glass glue commonly used in home decoration is divided into two types according to performance: neutral glass glue and acid glass glue.


Many people can easily use neutral glass glue and acid glass glue because they do not understand the performance of glass glue.
