Silicone rubber is a linear polymer elastomer with Si-O units as the main chain, monovalent organic groups as side groups, and both inorganic and organic properties. Silicone rubber adhesive is a one-component or two-component adhesive composed of adhesives, crosslinking agents, catalysts, reinforcing agents, tackifiers and heat stabilizers. According to the vulcanization temperature and use mode, it can be divided into heating vulcanization (ie curing) and room temperature vulcanization. The simpler and more convenient to use is the "one-component room temperature vulcanization adhesive".
Brief introduction of each component of silicone rubber adhesive:
1. Sticky material:
Silicone rubber adhesives mainly use dimethyl silicone rubber and modified silicone rubber (such as methyl vinyl silicone rubber, phenyl silicone rubber, fluorosilicone rubber, nitrile silicone rubber, borosilicone rubber, etc.).
2. Crosslinking agent:
A substance that can increase the molecular weight of siloxane and increase the degree of crosslinking is also called "vulcanizing agent". Commonly used crosslinking agents are ethyl orthosilicate, propyl orthosilicate, hydroxylamino silane, silicon-containing clear polysiloxane, butyl titanate, acetyl silane, oxime silane, alkoxy silane, amino Silane, amidosilane, organic peroxide, methyltriethoxysilane, etc.
3. Catalyst:
Also called "accelerator", a substance that can accelerate the action of the crosslinking agent. Common catalysts are dibutyltin dilaurate, metal oxides, vinyl platinum complexes, triethanolamine and so on. They can be used in conjunction with cross-linking agents to speed up the curing speed, reduce the amount of cross-linking agent, improve operating conditions and the performance of the final product.
4. Reinforcing agent:
The reinforcing agent used for silicone rubber is mainly natural or synthetic silica (including diatomaceous earth, combustion method and precipitation method silica) and other inorganic fillers. Factors such as the particle size, surface properties and aggregation state of the reinforcing agent have a great influence on the reinforcing effect of silicone rubber. At present, the best reinforcing effect is silica prepared by the combustion method (that is, fumed silica), with an average particle size of 10-40μm and a specific surface area of 150-300m2/g. The second is the silica prepared by the precipitation method, with an average particle size of 30 μm and a specific surface area of 100-150 m2/g.
5. Tackifier:
It is an important component to obtain adhesion. Mainly organic silane coupling agent, silicate, titanate, borate and silicone resin, etc.
