Organic silicone rubber foam material (also known as silicone foam/foamed silicone) is a kind of porous, low-density, compressible polymer elastomer material prepared by foaming vulcanization at high temperature after uniform mixing with raw silicone rubber, filler, vulcanizing agent and foaming agent as raw materials. Nowadays, silicone rubber foam is widely used, because it has the excellent properties of both silicone rubber and foam material. Not only has the high elasticity of rubber, but also has the performance of sound absorption, shock absorption and other foam. It is mainly used for shock absorption pads, gaskets, sound insulation materials, insulation materials, aviation insulation materials and other materials with relatively high performance requirements.

Silicone rubber has many excellent properties:

(1) High and low temperature resistance
Silicone rubber has excellent mechanical properties at high temperature (above 200℃), and still has a certain toughness and elasticity. The glass transition temperature (Tg) can be as low as -70 ℃. In general, the working temperature of silicone rubber is -100 ℃ to 350 ℃. It can withstand instantaneous temperatures of thousands of degrees and is often used to make heat-resistant coatings, such as in aviation.

(2) Electrical insulation
Silicone rubber insulation is good, after combustion, the resulting silica is still an insulating material. In addition, silicone rubber in arc discharge, not easy to coke, because of the structure of the carbon atom number is less, and its reinforced filler white carbon black, suitable for high-pressure occasions.

(3) Physiological inertia
Silicone rubber surface hydrophobic, therefore, the physical properties of the wet environment reduced. Poor adhesion, can play a role in isolation. And it itself is non-toxic and tasteless, no harm to human health, can only have a slight reaction with the body, which creates its excellent physiological inertia, at the same time, in physiological aging performance is also very superior.
