To most people, "silicone" is a strange name, and even some formulation engineers and consumers mistakenly think that silicone is a petrochemical product derived from petroleum. In fact, however, organosilicon is made from sand, also known as quartz, which is made up of two of the most abundant elements on earth, oxygen and silicon, mainly silicon dioxide.
You can't live without silicone. As a kind of environmental protection material with excellent performance, silicone has been imperceptibly throughout all aspects of life, from the clothes to wear, to eat food, to live in the house, and then to sit the car high-speed rail, through the road, across the bridge... We can't live without silicone, now and in the future! Organosilicon, also known as silicone or siloxane, is a polymer of organosiloxane made from alternating main chains of silicon and oxygen. Because its structure contains both "organic group" and "inorganic structure", it has both organic and inorganic chemical characteristics.
According to statistics, the total consumption of all kinds of silicone products in the world is about 650,000 tons of polysiloxane, accounting for 0.65% of the total production of all kinds of synthetic resins in the world (100 million tons), but the sales of silicone products is as high as 6.5 billion DOLLARS, accounting for 7% of the total sales of synthetic resins in the world (about 80 billion dollars). This includes silicone oil, silicone resin, silicone rubber and other silicone product materials, a wide variety of products.
