Will grease corrode rubber parts?

Common such as lithium or calcium based, aluminum based grease, can be used in the lubrication between rubber parts and metal body? Will it corrode the rubber parts?

Lithium grease and rubber, plastic and other polymer materials generally have a good affinity, the nature of rubber has little or almost no effect.
If you want to obtain excellent chemical stability and high and low temperature resistance, such as extreme pressure, high and low temperature, chemical corrosion environment in the sealing ring and O-ring grease, the best use of high density of the composite lubrication base oil made of waterproof grease.

What is the impact of lubricating oil on the performance of rubber oil seal?

Rubber oil seal at work, the first is to contact oil (including hydraulic oil, gas oil, lubricating oil, etc.), and many kinds of lubricating oil, the composition of the lubricating oil is more complex, lubricating oil and gear oil, etc.

Some mechanical working conditions are special, the requirements for lubricating oil are very high, but also have to use special lubricating oil, such as synthetic oil and silicone oil. The lubrication state of different oil seals is different, and the friction heat is also different. Therefore, the choice of lubricating oil has a greater impact on the oil seal and waterproof ring.

Please pay attention to the correct oil for rubber and nitrile rubber

The oil resistance of rubber refers to the ability of vulcanized rubber to resist oil. When rubber products and a variety of oil contact for a long time, oil can penetrate into the rubber, so that the expansion or volume increase. On the other hand, oil media can extract soluble complexes from vulcanizates, resulting in shrinkage or volume reduction of vulcanizates. This is a dynamic equilibrium.

Expansion occurs if the volume change caused by swelling is greater than that caused by contraction. Otherwise, it shrinks. The oil resistance of rubber usually refers to resistant non-polar oils: such as fuel oil, mineral oil and synthetic lubricants.

According to the principle of similar phase dissolution: polar polymer soluble in polar solvent, non-polar polymer soluble in non-polar solvent. Therefore, polar rubber has good stability to non-polar oil and is called oil resistant rubber. Nitrile butadiene rubber has medium oil resistance and good swelling resistance to mineral oil and synthetic hydrocarbon lubricating oil. It is the most commonly used oil resistant rubber.

Nitrile butadiene rubber heat resistant oil grade is lower than fluorine rubber and silicone rubber. But the price of nitrile butadiene rubber is much lower than fluorine rubber and fluorine silicone rubber, and the process performance is good. Therefore, it has become one of the widely used rubber products, and is the largest amount of rubber in rubber sealing products. With the increase of acrylonitrile content, the polarity of nitrile butadiene rubber is enhanced and its oil resistance is improved, but its low temperature resistance is worse. Therefore, the oil resistance can not be improved by increasing the content of acrylonitrile in raw rubber. Nitrile rubber ring general resistance can be applied to ordinary mineral oil, the use of environment more than 100 degrees Celsius high temperature is recommended to use fluorinated rubber or hydrogenated nitrile rubber ring
