Dealcoholized RTV - 2 two component silicone rubber

Hits: 261 img

Dealcohol-based two-component silicone rubber, usually refers to the need for A, B two components in A certain proportion of the mixture, at room temperature through the release of alcohol small molecules (ethanol/propanol, etc.) and vulcanized into an elastomer. Dealcoholized two-component silicone rubber is widely used in construction, electronics and photovoltaic industries. According to the ratio, state of the different, can be used for potting, can also be used for bonding seal; Compared with dealcoholized single component silicone rubber, it not only has the same excellent performance of heat resistance and weather resistance, but also has the special advantages of fast deep vulcanization, long storage period, easy rework and so on. Therefore, it is widely used.

We can see that the vulcanization of dealcohol-based two-component silicone rubber is different from that of single-component silicone rubber which only absorbs water vapor in the air. Its vulcanization is not so dependent on water vapor, but more depends on the special structure of crosslinking agent (tetranyxylsilane crosslinking agent) to achieve a faster deep vulcanization rate. Its vulcanization is significantly different from that of one component silicone rubber. Main compositions: basic polymer (107 silicone rubber), ethyl orthosilicate or propyl orthosilicate as crosslinking agent, tin silicate month as catalyst, powder, to be silane coupling agent and so on.

Let's take a look at the existence and characteristics of several common dealcohol-based two-component silicone rubber in the market:

1. insulating glass bonding sealant (building adhesive industry)

Dealcohol-based two-component silicone rubber is usually used for hollow glass two-channel sealing, which has the advantages of high modulus, high strength and excellent adhesion. When used, a special two-component glue machine is used for construction. The two components are mixed and vulcanized to form an elastomer according to the specified proportion (common 10:1).

Basic formula: Component A mainly contains 107 silicone rubber, powder and plasticizer, component B mainly contains 107 silicone rubber, plasticizer, crosslinking agent, coupling agent and catalyst (note: component B should be sealed, exposure to air will lead to its crust or failure)

2. electronic potting adhesive (industrial electronics)

It is often used in power supply, display screen, LED, photovoltaic and other industrial electronics. It is the most common dealcoholized two-component silicone rubber used in industrial electronics industry. It is usually used as electronic potting material to play waterproof, moisture-proof, anticorrosion and other functions. The most commonly used matching ratio is 10:1, but also according to the special application field made of 5:1 or 4:1, basically with 10:1 as the main.

Basic formula: Component A mainly contains 107 silicone rubber, powder, silicone oil and vulcanization accelerator. Component B is mainly crosslinking agent, coupling agent and catalyst, etc. (Note: Component B should be sealed and stored to prevent the hydrolysis of curing agent from affecting the normal performance)

Dealcohol-based two-component electronic potting sealant is used for potting, generally low viscosity, B component is close to liquid, which is different from the 10:1 hollow glass sealant described above. In recent years, although its deep vulcanization rate is much higher than that of one-component silicone rubber, it is still slower than that of another 1:1 silicone-hydrogen addition pooping adhesive that is vulcanized by heating, which affects the construction and application efficiency and leads to a significant decrease in its application in power supply pooping industry. However, its good adhesion (relative to 1:1 non-adhesion) makes it widely used in photovoltaic, display, floor lamp and other industries.
