High transparency liquid silicone rubber is a highly distinctive high-end category in organic silicone elastomers. It breaks through the technical bottleneck of traditional silicone rubber that is difficult to achieve high transparency. The visible light transmittance of vulcanized products can generally reach over 94%, and some specially purified grades can even exceed 95%, almost approaching the transparency performance of ordinary inorganic glass. At the same time, it fully retains the high elasticity, wide temperature resistance range, excellent weather resistance, and physiological inertness of silicone rubber itself, perfectly balancing the optical performance and structural advantages of elastic materials. It has become a core material rapidly popularized in many high-end manufacturing fields in recent years.
In the field of optics and lighting, highly transparent liquid silicone rubber is currently an ideal upgraded material to replace traditional optical resins. Its long-term anti yellowing performance is much better than that of ordinary transparent polymer materials. Even under long-term high temperature and strong ultraviolet irradiation, there will be no significant attenuation of transmittance. It is widely used in lens packaging of high-power LEDs, which can provide reliable buffering protection for the internal precision chip structure and ensure efficient and uniform light transmission, greatly improving the long-term service life of lighting products.
At the same time, it is also used to manufacture protective covers for various optical lenses, transparent seals for photoelectric sensors, and flexible protective coatings on the outer layer of optical fibers. While ensuring stable transmission of optical signals, it relies on its high flexibility to offset external stress damage to the thin fiber core, playing an irreplaceable role in high-end optical imaging and optical communication scenarios.
The electronic and electrical field is another major core application scenario for highly transparent liquid silicone rubber. It combines extremely high electrical insulation performance and stable dielectric properties, with a volume resistivity of over 10 ¹⁵Ω· cm and a dielectric strength of over 20kV/mm. At the same time, with its high transparency, after encapsulating precision electronic modules, IGBT devices, and various sensors, technicians can directly observe the working status of internal components through the materials.
They can also use probes to directly detect the fault points of internal circuits without damaging the overall packaging structure, greatly improving the later maintenance efficiency of precision electronic equipment. In addition, it is also used to manufacture long-life silicone buttons for consumer electronic devices and transparent sealing buffers around touch screens. While ensuring a transparent and beautiful appearance, it relies on its high and low temperature resistance to maintain stable elasticity in a wide temperature range of -60 ℃ to 250 ℃, without the common brittleness and deformation problems of ordinary plastic parts.
