Silicone leather differs significantly from traditional leather, including genuine leather and artificial leather such as PU leather and PVC leather, in a number of ways.

First of all, from the perspective of raw materials and production processes, silicone leather is made of silicone as raw material and coated on various substrates through solvent-free technology, which is more environmentally friendly and reduces the emission of harmful substances. In traditional leather, the leather is directly processed from animal skin, and after tanning, dyeing and other processes, harmful chemical agents may be used in the process; PU leather and PVC leather are made by coating a fabric substrate with polyurethane or polyvinyl chloride, which can produce harmful gases during combustion or production.

When it comes to environmental performance, silicone leather has clear advantages. Its production process is solvent-free, no waste water and exhaust gas emissions, zero VOC release, and environmentally friendly. Traditional leather, especially PU and PVC leather, can release harmful chemicals during combustion or long-term use, posing a potential threat to the environment and human health.

In terms of durability, silicone leather excels. It is hydrolysis resistant, weather-resistant, abrasion-resistant and scratch-resistant, and has a long service life. In contrast, although genuine leather is more durable, it is easy to crack and difficult to care for; PU leather also has good durability, but long-term use may release harmful chemicals; PVC leather is less durable.

In terms of feel and texture, silicone leather is soft and delicate to the touch, similar to genuine leather, and has good heat insulation. The leather feels soft and delicate, and the texture is real and rich; PU leather feels close to genuine leather, but may be slightly stiff or rough; PVC leather has a harder feel and a worse texture.

In addition, silicone leather has good breathability and balances the humidity inside the leather, helping to reduce odors. In traditional leather, genuine leather has good air permeability and can keep the skin dry; PU leather and PVC leather are less breathable.
