Taking the manufacture and replication of Maitreya Buddha mold as an example, the manufacturing process of silicone rubber mold is illustrated.

(1) Select the bottom opening as the positioning part, turn over and pour gypsum into the cavity, its height is about 30mm higher than the bottom, and dig out the pit for future positioning.

(2) Paste plasticine. Paste a layer of rice paper on the surface of the utensil, and then evenly paste 5mm thick plasticine on the surface.

(3) Gypsum molding. In order to support and fix the RTV mold and prevent its elastic deformation, the gypsum mold is first made outside the mud layer. Make a plaster statue piece by piece according to its approximate parting surface, pay attention to the positioning between the plaster molds, and the gypsum slurry is gypsum: water = 1:1.

(4) RTV molding mold production. The plaster is molded in reverse order, the plasticine is removed, cleaned up, and the parting agent is applied to the utensils and the gypsum mold respectively, and then the mold is closed.

(5) At the same time, weigh the components of RTV in proportion, mix and stir thoroughly. Because in the stirring process, RTV reacts with ethyl orthosilicate under the action of accelerator organotin to produce low molecular weight alcohols, and when pouring silicone rubber, pores are generated on the molding mold body, so it must be decompressed and deaerated, generally in a closed container with a vacuum degree of 100mmHg, and the time is about 5min.

(6) Inject the silicone rubber with air bubbles removed into the cavity of the mold, and cure at room temperature for about 24 hours.

(7) Take off the plaster and rely on the mold, and cut it with a razor according to the expected parting line;

(8) Carefully peel off the silicone rubber from the utensils, take away the utensils, and then fit the silicone rubber mold with the gypsum according to the original form, and the silicone rubber mold is completed.
