Silicone rubber products have excellent properties such as heat resistance, cold resistance, weather resistance, electrical insulation, and elasticity. It has a wide temperature range and minimal compression permanent deformation. Although these properties are closely related to the coordination technology, they mainly depend on the properties of silicone rubber pure rubber (polysiloxane).
Among all rubbers, silicone rubber has the widest working temperature range (-100~350 ℃). For example, ethylene based silicone rubber or low phenyl silicone rubber that has been properly formulated can still maintain elasticity after being aged in hot air at 250 ℃ for thousands of hours or 300 ℃ for hundreds of hours; Low phenyl silicone rubber vulcanized rubber can still maintain elasticity after being aged in hot air at 350 ℃ for several hours. Its glass transition temperature is -140 ℃, and its vulcanized rubber still has elasticity at temperatures ranging from -70 ℃ to 100 ℃. When silicone rubber is used as a heat-resistant coating on the inner wall of rocket nozzles, it can withstand temperatures of thousands of degrees Celsius in an instant.
