The most important characteristics of fluorosilicone oil are lubricity and solvent resistance.

Compared with dimethyl silicone oil, chlorinated phenyl silicone oil, and mineral oil, the lubricity of fluorosilicone oil exceeds that of chlorinated phenyl silicone oil and is significantly better than dimethyl silicone oil, even better than mineral oil under high load conditions. Fluorine silicone grease can be prepared by adding thickeners, stabilizers, and modification additives, which are used in fields that require higher wear resistance and solvent resistance than methyl silicone oil and phenyl silicone oil. This type of grease can resist various hydrocarbon solvents, strong acids (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid), corrosive gases, as well as rocket fuels and oxidants, and has excellent heat resistance, dielectric properties, oxidation resistance. Its viscosity does not change much over a wide temperature range, and its electrical properties also change very little.

It can be used as a lubricating oil for vacuum pumps handling chemical reaction gases, lubricating bearings in extremely low and high temperature environments, and as a base oil for lubricating grease in the clock and micro machinery industries. It is chemically inert to fuels and other chemicals and can be used in steam power cycle systems. It can also be used to make release agents, with good anti viscosity and lubricity, non corrosive molds, and non-toxic safety.
