(1) Silicone rubber is a highly saturated raw rubber that cannot be vulcanized with sulfur and is typically vulcanized using heat. Hot vulcanization uses organic peroxides as vulcanizing agents, so the rubber compound must not contain active substances that can react with the decomposition products of peroxides, otherwise it will affect vulcanization.
(2) Silicone rubber products are generally used at high temperatures, and their compounding agents should remain stable at high temperatures. Therefore, inorganic oxides are usually used as reinforcing agents.
(3) Silicone rubber is prone to the cleavage and rearrangement of siloxane bonds under the action of trace amounts of polar chemical reagents such as acid or alkali, leading to a decrease in the heat resistance of silicone rubber. Therefore, when selecting compounding agents, their acidity and alkalinity must be considered, as well as the acidity of peroxide decomposition products, to avoid affecting the performance of vulcanized rubber.
