Silicone rubber is mainly divided into two categories based on different vulcanization temperatures: high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV) and room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (RTV). High temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is mainly used to manufacture various silicone rubber products. Its raw rubber is mainly composed of high molecular weight polyethylene siloxane, which is vulcanized into an elastic body under heating and pressure by adding reinforcing fillers, vulcanizing agents and other additives. Room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is mainly used as an adhesive, potting material, or mold, and its vulcanization process is usually carried out at room temperature or under slightly heated conditions.
The processing technology of silicone rubber is also becoming increasingly advanced, including various molding methods such as compression molding, rolling, extrusion, etc. Especially with the emergence of liquid silicone rubber (LSR), the processing of silicone rubber has become more efficient and flexible. LSR is a two-component liquid rubber system that can be pumped into injection molding equipment and then thermally cured into molded rubber components. In addition, in recent years, liquid injection molding systems for silicone rubber based on catalytic addition reactions have been developed, further improving the processing efficiency and product quality of silicone rubber.
