1. Appearance of liquid silicone and solid:
(1) As the name suggests, liquid silicone is in a liquid state and has fluidity,
(2) Solid silicone gel is in a solid state and has no fluidity!
2. Application areas of liquid silicone and solid silicone:
(1) Liquid silicone is generally used in baby products, kitchen supplies, and medical supplies, and can directly come into contact with food and the human body,
(2) Solid silicone is generally used in daily necessities, industrial miscellaneous items, and automotive parts, with a wide range of applications,
3. Safety of solid silicone and liquid silicone:
(1) Liquid silicone is a highly transparent and safe food grade material that does not add auxiliary materials such as vulcanizing agents during molding, and is sealed and fed into the molding process.
(2) Solid silicone is a transparent and environmentally friendly material that requires the addition of a vulcanizing agent to accelerate the vulcanization molding time during molding. It is also used for open mold feeding molding,
4. Molding methods for liquid silicone and solid silicone:
(1) Liquid silicone is injection molded liquid silicone rubber (LSR): its full name is injection molded liquid silicone rubber, and the vulcanization equipment is an injection molding machine.
The injection molding machine has many advantages, such as a very simple process flow (no need for manual processes such as batching, rubber mixing, cutting, and material placement in high-temperature rubber technology, only one worker is needed to take the product), high product accuracy (all manual programs before molding are replaced by the machine), high output (A/B rubber mixed at a certain temperature for a few seconds to form), labor-saving, energy-saving, and material saving. It can produce all products produced by high-temperature rubber! It is a mainstream trend in the development of silicone rubber materials in the coming years.
(2) Solid silicone molding is the process of mixing raw materials into solid blocks using a mixer, then cutting them into products and molds of appropriate size and thickness using a cutting machine. These products are then placed into molds and molded at a certain temperature using a pressure molding machine. When demolding, it is similar to plastic products, and the mold also needs to be cleaned.
5. What is the difference between liquid silicone and solid silicone products
(1) Liquid silicone has high transparency, no odor, and the product has an injection port.
(2) Solid silicone transparent base, with a fragrance of vulcanizing agent or other masking vulcanizing agents, the product has no injection port.
