Professor Yves Van de peer, research team of "plant evolutionary genomics" of Nanjing Agricultural University recruited Professor Yves Van de peer, a newly introduced international famous bioinformatics expert from the Department of Horticulture of Nanjing Agricultural University, to establish a research team of "plant evolutionary genomics", which will provide multiple postdoctoral positions for researchers at home and abroad.
Work content the research team is dedicated to research in gene prediction, genome assembly and annotation, and comparative and evolutionary genomics. At present, we are looking for excellent researchers to join the team, especially those who are interested in early angiosperms, early terrestrial plants, Chinese herbal plants and other groups. The laboratory will study the genetic and evolutionary mechanisms related to the life style, morphological characteristics of plants, adaptability to pathogen interaction, and the scores related to plant lineage differentiation and metabolite biosynthesis Sub base. In addition, another major research interest of our team is gene and whole genome replication. Applicants need to be able to apply for research projects independently or with a tutor to help guide graduate students.
Requirements for applicants The applicant is expected to have a doctoral degree in related fields, be curious about scientific research, like interdisciplinary cooperation and self motivation; the applicant needs to have fruitful interaction with evolutionary biologists, genomic biologists and computer scientists; have a research background in bioinformatics and evolutionary biology; have a system development, epigenetics, evolution / comparison basis Experience in research of genomics or population genetics; know at least one programming language (such as Perl, python, R, etc.) and have working experience in Linux environment. RNA SEQ and genomic data sets (using data from Illumina and pacbio / nanopore platforms) will be widely used in the study; although the main working place is Nanjing, China, excellent English communication skills are essential.
The applicant will work in the school of horticulture, Nanjing Agricultural University. The research team and college will provide all necessary research equipment and incentive research environment, and provide high-performance servers, experimental instruments and academic resources. The team leader, Professor Yves Van de peer, is a full-time professor at Ghent University (Belgium) (https://www.vandepeerlab.org/), and a part-time professor at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) and Nanjing Agricultural University (China). Postdocs will have the opportunity to allocate working time between laboratories in China and Belgium.
Salary: 180000-280000 yuan / year ≈ 23387-36381 euros / year; the university provides postdoctoral apartments; the enrollment of children is equal to that of teaching staff of Nanjing Agricultural University. If you need to apply, please send a separate document in Chinese and English (including an introduction letter describing your research background and experience), a detailed resume and a list of publications, and the contact information of at least two references to yves.vandepeer @ psb.ugent.be and xuejy@nju.edu.cn at the same time.
