Abstract: This paper discusses what conditions the silicone sealant production enterprises should have, and the 25-year warranty letter issued for the engineering projects using the silicone sealant products is effective and credible.

1. Preface
Because of its fashionable appearance, gorgeous color, good landscape effect and lighting effect, the glass curtain wall is favored by designers.
China's existing glass curtain wall area exceeds 500 million square meters, has become the world's largest glass curtain wall production and use country. With the requirements of urban landscape and architectural art, some new design forms of buildings, high-rise and super high-rise buildings can be seen everywhere, which brings us convenient life and new visual enjoyment. At the same time, the safety and service life of glass curtain wall are also put forward higher requirements.
Silicone sealant has become an ideal material for glass curtain wall bonding and sealing because of its excellent high and low temperature resistance, weather aging resistance, ozone resistance, good adhesion to all kinds of base materials and strong displacement resistance. Its quality directly affects the safety and service life of the glass curtain wall, which can be described as a small material and a big role!
In order to ensure the safety and service life of the glass curtain wall, the service life of the sealant is required to be consistent with the design service life of the curtain wall structure, that is to provide 25 years of quality assurance. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of market development, sealant manufacturers have launched "25-year warranty" silicone sealant, and issued a 25-year warranty letter for the engineering projects using their products. However, there are many manufacturers in China's construction sealant industry, with mixed brands and uneven product quality. How to ensure the effectiveness of their "25-year warranty letter" This paper will focus on how to quantify the analysis.
2. Conditions for sealant manufacturer to issue 25 year warranty
2.1 silicone structural sealant
(1) third party test report
The manufacturer shall provide the test report of the third-party testing organization with testing qualification that meets the requirements of H type in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 or Etag 002 of EU. The test report shall cover all test items related to silicone structural sealant in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 type H or EU Etag 002 specification. In recent years, we have found that some of the production enterprises in the market provide the third-party test reports with missing items and missing items.
(2) detection capability
The manufacturer shall have the testing capacity (including testing equipment, testing technology, etc.) according to the requirements of H-type in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 or Etag 002 specification in the European Union, and shall provide the factory testing report of each batch of products meeting the requirements of the enterprise standard. The enterprise standard shall be filed with the local technical supervision department, and at least include the requirements of consistency (infrared spectrum analysis, thermogravimetry analysis), water ultraviolet light 1008h, salt fog, acid fog, curtain wall cleaner, shear, tear, fatigue and other test items in JG / T 475, JG / T 471 type H or European Etag 002 specification.
(3) consistency requirements
In order to ensure the consistency between the actual glue used in the project and the products in the bidding documents provided by the manufacturer, the samples can be directly taken from the site during the construction process and sent to the third-party authoritative testing agency for testing. The testing items shall at least include H-type in JG / T 475, JG / T 471 or European Etag Test items of "thermogravimetry analysis, infrared spectrum analysis, 1008h water ultraviolet irradiation, 80 ℃ shearing, tearing, curtain wall cleaner" in 002 specification requirements. Among them, the thermogravimetric analysis and infrared spectrum analysis of sealant products in the construction site sampling products and the bidding documents of the manufacturer shall be consistent; the test results of the two "1008h water ultraviolet light, 80 ℃ shearing, tearing and curtain wall cleaner" test items shall be consistent.
2.2 supporting silicone weather resistant sealant
The sealant manufacturer shall not only provide silicone structural sealant meeting the requirements of H type in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 or Etag 002 in EU, but also provide silicone weather resistant sealant meeting the requirements of LM in iso116000; For the sealant used for the joints of high-rise and super high-rise glass curtain walls and daylighting roofs, the requirements above shall be met, and the sealant shall also meet the requirements of class 100 / 50 in national standard GB / T 22083 or American Standard ASTM c920.
2.3 project cases
As the textual research and reference of product quality and service system, sealant manufacturers shall provide relevant engineering cases that have signed "25 years warranty" and supporting materials that have provided services for them within the corresponding warranty period.
3. Conclusion
The manufacturer of silicone sealant products has the following conditions at the same time, and the 25-year warranty letter issued for the project using its products is effective and reliable:
(1) provide the test report of the third-party testing agency with testing qualification that the silicone structural sealant meets the requirements of H type in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 or Etag 002 in the European Union.
(2) it shall have the testing capacity (including testing equipment, testing technology, etc.) according to the requirements of H type in JG / T 475 or JG / T 471 or Etag 002 specification of European Union, and shall provide the factory testing report of each batch of products meeting the requirements of enterprise standards.
(3) in the process of construction, samples are directly taken from the site and sent to the third-party authoritative testing agency for testing. The test results are consistent with the product performance in the bidding documents provided by the sealant manufacturer.
(4) provide silicone weather resistant sealant meeting LM requirements of iso116000 or 100 / 50 requirements of GB / T 22083 or ASTM c920.
(5) the sealant manufacturer shall provide relevant engineering cases that have been completed and issued "25 year warranty commitment" and corresponding supporting materials.
