Each product does not want the product surface to be uneven and bumpy, so it is important for the surface finish of silicone products. The polishing method of the main mold of silicone products is mainly to reduce the roughness of the surface of the mold steel. You want to really ensure the surface of the silicone products The finish still needs to start from the mold process, so what are the treatment methods for the surface finish process of the silicone mold?
Mould polishing can be divided into a variety of process methods. Different treatment methods are used in silicone molds, among which the following surface treatment methods are common processes!

  Electrolytic polishing:

Electrolytic polishing is to smooth the surface by selectively dissolving the tiny protrusions on the surface of the material. Compared with chemical polishing, the effect of cathode reaction can be eliminated, and the effect is better. The electrochemical polishing process is divided into two steps:

(1) Macroscopic leveling of the dissolved product diffuses into the electrolyte, the surface roughness of the material decreases, and Ra> 1μm.

(2) Low light leveling and anodic polarization, the surface brightness is improved, Ra <1μm.

Mechanical polishing:

Mechanical polishing is a polishing method that uses the plastic deformation of the surface of the cutting material to remove the polished protrusions to obtain a smooth surface.Generally, you use whetstone strips, wool wheels, sandpaper, etc., mainly manual operations. Turntables and other auxiliary tools, the surface quality requirements can be used ultra-refined polishing method. The ultra-precise grinding polishing adopts a special grinding tool. In the grinding polishing liquid containing abrasives, it is pressed against the surface of the workpiece to be processed for high-speed rotation. The surface roughness of Ra0.008μm can be achieved by this technology, which is the highest among various polishing methods.
Ultrasonic polishing:

Ultrasonic polishing is a polishing method that uses ultrasonic waves as a driving force to push fine abrasive particles to impact the surface of the workpiece at a very high speed, forcing the abrasive to process the surface to be processed, thereby reducing its surface roughness.

Fluid polishing:

Fluid polishing relies on high-speed flowing liquid and abrasive particles carried by it to wash the surface of the workpiece to achieve the purpose of polishing. Common methods are: abrasive jet processing, liquid jet processing, hydrodynamic grinding, etc. Hydrodynamic grinding is driven by hydraulic pressure to make the liquid medium carrying abrasive particles flow back and forth across the surface of the workpiece at high speed. The medium is mainly made of special compounds that flow through under low pressure and mixed with abrasives. The abrasives can be silicon carbide powder.

Magnetic grinding and polishing:

Magnetic grinding and polishing is the use of magnetic abrasives to form abrasive brushes under the action of magnetic fields to grind workpieces. This method has high processing efficiency, good quality, easy control of processing conditions, and good working conditions. With appropriate abrasives, the surface roughness can reach Ra0.1μm.
