High and low temperature resistance
Organic silicone rubber exhibits excellent mechanical properties in high temperature environments (above 200 ℃), while still possessing a certain degree of toughness and elasticity. The glass transition temperature (Tg) can be as low as -70 ℃. In general, the working temperature of silicone rubber is between -100 ℃ and 350 ℃. It can withstand instantaneous high temperatures of thousands of degrees, so it is often used to make heat-resistant coatings, such as in the aviation industry.

Electrical insulation
Organic silicone rubber has good insulation properties, and after combustion, the generated silica remains the insulating material. In addition, silicone rubber is less prone to scorching during arc discharge because its structure has fewer carbon atoms and its reinforcing filler, white carbon black, is suitable for high voltage applications.

Physiological inertness
The surface of silicone rubber is hydrophobic, so the physical properties decrease slightly in humid environments. Poor adhesion can play a role in isolation. And it itself is non-toxic and odorless, without harm to human health, and can only produce slight reactions with the body, which also creates its excellent physiological inertia. At the same time, it is also very superior in terms of physiological aging performance.
