You must know the silicone replica process when making a prototype model

Hits: 569 img

Silicone replica refers to the use of 3D printing or CNC machining to produce prototype parts of a product. A silicone mold is manufactured in a vacuum state and poured using materials such as PU transparent PU, POM like, ABS, etc. in the vacuum state to replicate the same replica as the original.

Small batch production: A set of silicone molds can produce 10-20 sets of products, with high production efficiency, low cost of small batch production, and fast production cycle.

Material diversity: The materials used in silicone mold products include ABS, PP like, PC like, PMMA (transparent parts), and rubber like. Can meet the performance requirements of various products.

Integrated molding: Silicone molds can be used to produce conventional injection molded products with good overall strength. They can be used directly for whole vehicles, various performance tests, and reliability tests when making samples.

Pre embedded and secondary pouring: The silicone mold process can be pre embedded and secondary poured (such as air door sealing, pre embedded metal inserts, etc.).

The replica prototype is made by first using SLA laser rapid prototyping or CNC machining, and then using silicone inverted mold to make the mold, leaving water outlets and exhaust holes. After the silicone gel has solidified and formed, take out the prototype inside, and the silicone mold can start vacuum pouring the required prototype.
