01. Form self-supporting ceramic body in flame
When the rubber material containing inorganic fillers is exposed to the flame, the rubber degrades or burns, and the degradation or combustion products volatilize, leaving inorganic residues or ash with less strength. These residues are usually not condensed or self-supporting, or even broken into particles or powders, and therefore have no fire protection efficacy. When the specially designed ceramic rubber formula is exposed to the flame, depending on the rubber variety and formula adjustment, it can produce ceramics in the range of 350 ~ 800℃ or above, and burn into porous self-supporting ceramic body, which can maintain the integrity of the structure in the flame at 650 ~ 1000℃ for a certain time (0.5 ~ 2h). It can play a good role in "passive fire prevention" and win valuable time for fire safety.


02. Has a certain strength, good thermal shock resistance
The ceramic sintered body is relatively hard, and the ceramic sound is knocked, and the bending strength and penetration strength are certain. The bending strength of ceramic silicone rubber is much higher than that of ordinary silicone rubber, and it increases obviously with the increase of temperature. By spraying water on high temperature ablated specimens during simulated fire fighting process, the sintered body of ceramized silicone rubber did not burst and showed good thermal shock resistance.


03. No halogen, low smoke, low toxicity, self-extinguishing, environmental protection
Ceramic silicone rubber without adding halogen flame retardants can achieve the effect of flame retardancy and self-extinguishing, flame retardancy UL94V-0, oxygen index up to 38. Under the ablation of the flame, the smoke is completely broken after a few minutes of burning, and in the following ablation process, there is no smoke itself. The combustion of ceramic silicone rubber produces carbon dioxide, water and silicon dioxide, which are non-toxic substances.


04. Good electrical performance
The electrical properties of the optimized ceramic silicone rubber -- the volume resistivity before sintering is no less than 1015Ω·cm, and the volume resistivity decreases with the increase of sintering temperature. After burning at 1000℃ for 30min, the volume resistivity decreases to 107Ω·cm. The volume resistivity of ordinary silicone rubber before and after sintering is not less than 1015 and 107Ω·cm, respectively.


05. Easy to process
The material preparation and product production process is similar to that of ordinary silicone rubber, which can be produced using conventional rubber processing equipment (extruder, plate vulcanization machine, injection machine, etc.). The production process of refractory cable is simplified and the cost is reduced.
