Silicone oil and its derivatives as cosmetics raw materials, with excellent physical and chemical properties, such as physiological inertia, good chemical stability, odorless, non-toxic, and has a very low surface tension and strong water repellent, no irritation to the skin, no allergy, can form a uniform waterproof, breathable and good lubrication on the skin surface protective film.
At present, the silicone oil varieties commonly used in various cosmetic formulations are mainly: polydimethylsiloxane, polymethylphenylsiloxane, polydimethylcyclosiloxane, silicone glycol copolymer, amino modified silicone oil and emulsified silicone oil.
