Low temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, also known as liquid silicone rubber, is a vinyl end group of polysiloxane elastomer material, the general vulcanization temperature is 40~120℃, that is, between hot vulcanization and room temperature vulcanization. It can be used with Si-H based energy-suspended polysiloxane as a crosslinking agent, in the presence of catalyst for addition reaction, to complete the crosslinking, also known as addition molding silicone rubber.

The common catalyst is organoplatinum complex. Newer varieties have complex compounds containing vinyl low molecular polysiloxanes. The amount of catalyst is very small.

In order to adjust the active period of the compound and improve the storage stability, reaction inhibitors can be used, which are generally alkyne compounds, and compounds containing amine, tin, phosphorus, etc.

The vulcanization system has a large activity, and if it is not stored properly, the glue will be partially cross-linked at room temperature. Therefore, in addition to the use of reaction inhibitors, the compound must generally be made into a two-component form: one component contains a cross-linking agent, and the other component contains a catalyst, similar to two-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. When used, it should be mixed according to the regulations. In this way, the adhesive storage period is longer, up to more than 1 year at room temperature. The vulcanization rate of additive molding system has a great relationship with temperature.

Molded silicone rubber can not only be vulcanized at low temperature, but also can be vulcanized at high temperature for a short time. Additive silicone rubber generally does not require two-stage vulcanization, because there are no low molecular polycondensation byproducts produced during the vulcanization process. However, to reduce the compression deformation of vulcanized rubber, it is necessary to carry out two-stage vulcanization.
