First, cold shrink cable accessories
Cold-shrink cable accessories are made use of the high elasticity of silicone rubber materials, the high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is vulcanized by injection molding, and processed into tubular parts of different structures, and then special machinery is used to expand tubular parts of different structures. When the inner diameter of the parts is expanded to about 3 times, the special plastic support tube is placed into the tubular parts. The silicone rubber tubular parts are kept in an expanded state, and these expanded parts become the parts of the cold shrink cable accessories.
During field installation, insert these expanded parts into the end or joint of the treated cable, pull out the internal support tube (strip), and the silicone rubber parts automatically shrink and compress on the cable insulation. It is a cable attachment. Because it relies on the elastic retraction force of silicone rubber at room temperature, rather than using fire heating to shrink like heat shrinkable cable accessories, it is commonly known as cold shrinkable cable accessories.
Cold-shrink cable accessories have an important requirement for silicone rubber, which can still be reset after two years of expansion and storage, and can still be shrunk and pressed on the cable insulation.


Two, prefabricated cable accessories
Prefabricated cable accessories are high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is vulcanized by injection molding and processed into tubular parts of different structures (without expansion).
During on-site installation, the molded, vulcanized tubular parts that are smaller than the cable insulation diameter are directly inserted into the cable insulation at the end or junction of the treated cable. Because the inner diameter of the silicone rubber parts is smaller than the cable insulation, they can be directly pressed on the cable insulation to form prefabricated cable accessories.
