The molding process of high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is the most common process in the manufacturing of silicone rubber products. Here are some problems that should be paid attention to in the molding process of high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber.

1. During the molding of silicone rubber products, silicone rubber is pressed under great pressure, and its internal cohesion due to the elastomer cannot be eliminated. When silicone rubber is molded and demoulded, it often produces extremely unstable shrinkage (the shrinkage rate of silicone rubber is different due to different types of rubber), and it can only be gentle and stable after a period of time. Therefore, at the beginning of silicone product design, no matter the formula or mold, it is necessary to carefully calculate and cooperate with comprehensive consideration, otherwise it is easy to cause dimensional instability of silicone products, resulting in low product quality.

2. Silica gel is a thermosetting elastomer, while plastic is a thermosetting elastomer. Due to different types of silica gel curing agents, the temperature range of silicone rubber curing is also quite different, and even silicone rubber curing can be affected by climate change and indoor temperature and humidity. Therefore, the production conditions of silica gel products need to be adjusted appropriately at any time. If not, there may be differences in product quality.

3. Silica gel products are silicone rubber compounds made from silica gel raw materials after rubber mixing in an internal mixer as raw materials. The formula is designed according to the characteristics of the silicone rubber products required during rubber mixing, and the required product hardness and the type of silicone rubber vulcanizing agent are determined. Silicone rubber products are molded by a rubber plate vulcanizer. After the product is formed, flash processing shall be carried out to make the product surface smooth without burrs.

4. Problems such as die sticking, edge warping, bubbles, and incomplete vulcanization white spots may occur during the silicone rubber molding vulcanization process, so it is necessary to adjust the mold temperature, exhaust time, mold pressure, etc.
