What effect does silicone oil have on textiles?

Hits: 235 img

Generally speaking, there are three basic forms of silicone oil in the market: pure silicone oil, solution and lotion.

It has very strong stability, heat resistance, frost resistance, good storage performance, high flash point and high ignition point, and few storage and transportation problems.

In fact, it is often necessary to dilute the silicone oil solution, and sometimes it is desirable to add active auxiliary agents (catalysts, cross-linking agents, etc.) to the solution for storage and use. Aliphatic, aromatic, or chlorinated hydrocarbons can be used as solvents as needed. Other types of solvents can only be used under special circumstances. Generally, the concentration of polymer polysiloxane solutions can only reach 35%, otherwise the viscosity is too high.

A large part of silicone oil or silicone oil containing products are made into lotion form. Compared with solvent silicone oil, it has the advantages of low price, non combustible, harmless to health, etc. Different from solvent type, all organosilicon lotion are heterogeneous systems of "oil in water" type. Its external closed phase is the water phase. Silicon oil is dispersed in the water phase as tiny drops, which is easy to dilute with water to the required concentration for application. The stability of this lotion can be achieved by minimizing the droplets and stabilizing the emulsifier effect.
