1. Self-supporting ceramic body is formed in the flame
When the rubber material containing inorganic fillers is exposed to the flame, the rubber will degrade or burn, and the degradation or combustion products will volatilize and leave inorganic residues or ash with low strength. These residues are usually non-condensing or non-self-supporting, or even broken into particles or powder, so they have no fire protection effect. When the ceramic rubber with special design formula is exposed to the flame, depending on the type and formula of the rubber, it can produce ceramic in the range of 350~800 ℃ or above, and sintered into porous self-supporting ceramic body, which can maintain the integrity of the structure in the flame with high temperature of 650~1000 ℃ for a certain time (0.5~2h), can well play the role of "passive fire prevention", and win valuable time for fire safety.

2. It has certain strength and good thermal shock resistance
The sintered body after vitrification is relatively hard, with ceramic sound when knocking, and a certain flexural strength and compressive strength. The bending strength of the ceramic silicone rubber specimen is far greater than that of the ordinary silicone rubber, and it increases obviously with the increase of temperature. Simulate the fire fighting process and spray water on the high-temperature ablated specimen. The sintered body of ceramicized silicone rubber does not crack, showing good thermal shock resistance.

3. Halogen-free, low smoke, low toxicity, self-extinguishing, environmental protection
The ceramic silicone rubber can achieve the flame-retardant self-extinguishing effect without adding halogen flame retardant. The flame retardance is UL94V-0, and the oxygen index can be as high as 38. Under the ablation of the flame, the smoke will be completely cut off after being burned for a few minutes, and no smoke will be generated in the following ablation process. Carbon dioxide, water and silicon dioxide produced by the combustion of ceramic silicone rubber are non-toxic substances.

4. Good electrical performance
The electrical properties of the optimized formulation of ceramicized silicone rubber - the volume resistivity before sintering is not less than 1015 Ω· cm. With the increase of sintering temperature, its volume resistivity decreases. After burning at 1000 ℃ for 30 minutes, its volume resistivity decreases to 107 Ω· cm. The volume resistivity of ordinary silicone rubber before and after sintering shall not be less than 1015 and 107 Ω· cm respectively.

5. Easy processing
The process of rubber preparation and product production is similar to that of ordinary silicone rubber, which can be produced using conventional rubber processing equipment (extruder, plate vulcanizer, injection machine, etc.). The production process of fire-resistant cable is simplified and the cost is reduced.
