Classification and characteristics of leveling agents

Hits: 687 img

After the coating is applied, there will be a process of flowing and drying to form a film. Finally, a flat and uniform coating film is gradually formed. However, during the leveling and film formation of the coating, defects such as shrinkage and pinholes are often generated. It is necessary to add a leveling agent to make the coating have a suitable surface tension and reduce the surface tension gradient.

There are many types of leveling agents, and generally there are several:

1. Defoaming and leveling agent: It is mainly used to eliminate the stirring bubbles used in the production of medium and high viscosity coatings and the air bubbles generated during the application of coatings such as spraying, brushing and spraying.

2. Special foam suppressing leveling agent: In addition to suppressing the air bubbles generated during the production of coatings and spraying, this leveling agent will also smooth the coating film, and there will be no defects of no adhesion between coatings when re-coated.

3. Smoothing and leveling agent: can improve the clear transparency, gloss and smooth touch of the coating film.

4.Fast defoaming agent: In addition to helping the paint to quickly defoam when spraying or dipping, it can also appropriately increase the brightness and dryness of the coating film, suppress color separation and floating, and prevent shrinkage.

5. Solvent-based defoaming agent: It can eliminate bubbles and depressions, produce a flat coating film, and improve the coating film and anti-abrasion.

The above introduces the classification and characteristics of leveling agents, I hope to help you.
