Wu Zhengyan team of Hefei Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences developed nano-repairing agent for diesel pollution
Recently, the research team of Wu Zhengyan, Institute of Technology and Biology, Hefei Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made progress in diesel pollution remediation, and developed nano-remediation agent which can effectively remove diesel oil from water and soil. Relevant results have been received and published by the core journal Science of the Total Environment.
According to statistics, a large number of diesel oil leaks and migrates to water and soil in the process of exploitation and transportation every year, causing serious environmental pollution. Diesel oil contains aromatic hydrocarbons which are difficult to degrade, affecting the growth of aquatic organisms and farm crops. Diesel oil pollution remediation has also become one of the hot and difficult issues in the field of environmental research. The existing diesel adsorbents are difficult to be widely used because of their complex synthesis steps and high cost. Therefore, it is urgent to develop simple and efficient diesel adsorbents.
Based on nano-sponge, hydrophobic nano-sponge was prepared by modification of amino-silicone oil and silane coupling agent. As a repair agent, diesel oil leaked into water and soil can be efficiently removed. It has the characteristics of simple preparation process and stable performance, which provides technical support for diesel pollution remediation.
